My son has a Nexus tablet that has Firefox on it. For the last two days he has been unable to use the internet because It keeps giving him the message,

"The proxy server is refusing connections. Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct. "

All the solutions I can find are for Android phones running Firefox or laptops running Firefox. They tell me to go places and click on things a tablet doesn't have. I tried using Chrome but got the same message. My Nexus is running fine. I set up both tablets so I don't understand why his is doing this. All his apps are working fine. It's just his internet access. How do I fix this?

If Chrome is giving you this error too then it's not a problem with Firefox as Firefox can't affect Chrome. From what I can tell, it's a problem with your router. Can you access the Internet from your computer or does it give you the same issue?
Try restarting your router to see if that fixes it.

Hi thefrostycat, It could also be the proxy set up on the network. There is an app for proxy settings: on the play store as well as an add on Proxy Selector

Android troubleshooting for GSM device(I do not know if your nexus is, most likely it is not): Access Point Name (APN). Go to Settings > Wireless and Networks > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > [Your data APN] (your device's menu may differ slightly). Check the Proxy field.

Moses....Thank you! Glad you like it. It's the first username I've ever had where I didn't get called "Dude" all the time. I got called Dude even when I used Lilibelle which was my granny's name.
