We are using thunderbird on a network of several computers linked to the one email account. If someone else is using thunderbird like sending and receiving emails none else can use thunderbird at the same time until the first person closes out of thunderbird. How can we fix this problem?

Do you know if your setup uses IMAP?

Your problem may be due to the server; it could be configured to permit only one connection at a time.

Are the various users sharing a common profile? That would give the symptoms you describe, since Thunderbird locks its profile.
