Hi. I have unsuccessfully attempted to update Firefox to the latest version, both via the prompt when it recognizes that the update is required, and by attempting the same via the "about" menu option. On 4 occassions (yesterday and today), the update fails to complete upon re-opening Firefox saying that there is already an incidence of Firefox running - which there isn't! (Windows Task Manager confirms this). Apart from being annoying with the update prompt reappearing every hour or so, short of complete product uninstal and re-instal (necessitating export bookmark, losing cookies, remembered login details, etc), an option which in my books is last resort, what can I do???? Thanks Robert

hello robert, you have multiple malicious addons present. though they are disabled at the moment, they could nevertheless be a sign that adware/malware is present on your system, which can cause all sorts of troubles.

please run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner.

Thank you for your suggestion which I followed (installed and ran Malwarebytes and more than 1700 problems found, mostly from same source). This morning I was prompted to update Firefox and the same error was reported, and the update failed.
