I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 OS. Mozilla Thunderbird is being used for email client. Whenever I'm opening Thunderbird, I'm receiving Alert message reading "Unable to locate Mail spool file". What is the remedy?

Your accounts need to be set up as POP or IMAP not spool is my guess.

Most Linux distributions include a mail server component that Thunderbird assumes works. Unfortunately the reality is very few of them are actually configures. So go into your account settings and delete the account
