Keep getting "Access Denied (authentication_failed)" when I first log into my network at work. Nothing seems to work
Keep receiving a message when I first sign on in the morning: Access Denied (authentication_failed) Your credentials could not be authenticated: "Credentials are missing." You will not be permitted access until your credentials can be verified. This is typically caused by an incorrect username and/or password, but could also be caused by network problems.
I have made sure no passwords are stored and still get this error message. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- Click the menu button , choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the "Clear Now" button.
Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

If you use a bookmark to open a specific page on the server to access this page then try to navigate to that page starting with the main page or the sign in page of the website in case this bookmark is currently broken. It is best to avoid bookmarking pages that were reached by sending POST data in a (hidden) form or pages that have GET data appended to the URL (?xxx=xxx) or links to a specific domain in case load balancing is used as they can easily get broken if changes are made on the server.
There is usually no need to clear all cookies as this will remove cookies from websites that you would like to keep.
Try to clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
