since a few days my firefox keeps crashing. first it stopped displaying websites like facebook and youtube properly. then it started crashing more or less upon starting up, all the time. safe mode wouldn't help. the address bar was broken, i could write into it, but upon pressing enter nothing would happen. i finally managed to reset it, then it wouldn't connect with the internet bc of some certificate problem (SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER), and started crashing again after start up.

I have a current version of Avast running. Shortly before this started happening I installed Google Chrome on my computer, but I used to have a version of that earlier and it was never a problem. Also tried re-installing Firefox, which didn't help either.

attached is a screenshot of some of the last crash reports the latest one that i found in the library is this: bp-ffd74dff-5d36-47b7-8647-26ddb2160402

thanks for any help!

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

Try to create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
