I noticed that Thunderbird has been saving multiple copies of messages that I have sent in my "Drafts" folder. It seems to keep intermittent copies as I am composing the messages and they stay in the folder even after I have sent the final version.

Is this supposed to happen or is this a bug in Thunderbird?

What mail provider are you using?

This issue has nothing to do with my e-mail service... it is SMTP!!

The issue occurs whether I actually send a message or not.. all that is required is to create a long (or write slowly) message. Multiple copies are saved to the Drafts folder as you type.

This problem is solely created by Thunderbird even before attempting to send the message.

Earthlink is my provider but again it has nothing to do with this problem.

While this may delay the problem it doesn't fix the obvious bug.. But thanks for the feedback.
