Instead of left click on a link I find I must right click and in the context menu click open in a new tab. Why? Is this a new feature or a bit of code that went wrong?

Using the beta version may result is some bugs. The development versions of Firefox are intended for testing purposes only.

This issue will likely be patched before version 49.0 is released.

You've got a ton of add-ons installed on Firefox, is it is likely one of them causing the issue.

An easy way to find out whether this is the case, is to run Firefox in Safe Mode. This is a diagnostic mode that temporarily disables your add-ons and reverts some advanced settings.

If the issue is gone in Safe Mode, this it is caused by an add-on and you will need to troubleshoot your extensions to solve the issue.

If the issue is still present in Safe Mode, please let us know. If you discover which add-on is causing the issue, please remember to share that information with us. Thanks.

I see that the problem is version 49 RC1&2. I reverted to 48.0.2 and ran a Hekasoft Backup and Restore that I made prior to installing 49. I see in this article that 49 has other problems as well: http://www.ghacks.net/2016/09/09/mozilla-postpones-firefox-49-release/

I believe it has other problems too. While using it I turned on compatibility checking and it wanted most of my addons removed as not being compatible with multiprocess rollout. I have this manually turned on in 48.0.2 and am only having two small problems. One being 'Form Fill' and the other 'AutoCopy2. I see there is a new version of AutoCopy and plan to check it out. My cache seems to fill things in for me most of the time if I just click the first letter, as in 'j' to get my first name which is Jack.

This works fine for me and I don't plan on installing 49 until it is 49.0.25!

Actually I started multiprocess rollout while using 47.0.1 after reading an article about what it was and how to turn it on. I've downloaded the new version of autocopy but haven't tested it yet and I'm about to search for formfill or equivalent. And yes I do have a ton of addons. I at first while still using 49 tried the trial and error method of turning addons on and off to no avail. That is when and why I reverted to 48.0.1. I haven't check the compatibility addon as of now. But will in the next few days. I've been using Fx almost since day one and usually don't have problems with it or my addons. I really like the ability to modify my browser both with addons and in about:config.

I wouldn't be caught dead using IE. I've tried Chrome, Opera and Avant (I think that's what it's called. I despise all of them. I stayed at Windows 8.1 since I didn't want all of that telemetry and have turn all of it off in Win 8.1.

Nice try, but I think I figured it out on my own. Thanks.
