Firefox was working fine.Since the latest update I cannot access a website by typing the location in the address box. Links in email still work fine. Why?

Firefox was working fine until the most recent updates. I was able to log into my webmail after the update but cannot open a second tab and access additional websites. I have tried several large sites and none of them will open from the address bar. I can, however, open additional tabs from links embedded in email. I also cannot access any of the firefox help locations from within the firefox browser. I get the same result with those as I do using the address bar-- tab continues to say "new tab" and a small dot icon ticks back and forth.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.3 with a Full Version Installer
