I logged into my Firefox account succefully but however I can't sync my data. When I hover mouse pointer over my account name in the main menu the hint appears saying that the last sync was performed on the 1'st of January but nevertheless I don't see that my bookmarks, settings and extensions were synchronized. When I looked into the log (available through about:sync-log) I found the following error:

1528826421812 Sync.Resource WARN GET request to https://sync-656-us-west-2.sync.services.mozilla.com/1.5/104145959/info/collections failed: [Exception... "The connection has timed out" nsresult: "0x804b000e (NS_ERROR_NET_TIMEOUT)" location: "<unknown>" data: no] No traceback available

Can anyone help me? Why can't the browser connect to the server? I can send the full log if needed.

Can you login to the Sync account via this page?

In case of issues with Sync you can try this: Disconnect from Sync and Reconnect to Sync again. You can disconnect from Sync by clicking the e-mail address in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list or go to "Options/Preferences > Sync". Delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the Weave folder (Sync was formerly named Weave). Remove an existing chrome://FirefoxAccounts entry in the Firefox Password Manager. If that isn't enough then delete the prefs.js files to reset all prefs and maybe also delete the compatibility.ini file to reinitialize the profile. Delete and re-create the Firefox account or change the Sync password. Note that changing the Sync password will wipe all data stored on the Sync server.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

The main reason behind this error is that in Russia there was unprecedented blocking of several millions of IP addresses in april and the IP address (18.237.39.137) for the hostname sync-656-us-west-2.sync.services.mozilla.com is blocked now (you can see that on the screenshot attached).

This is also confirmed by port check. If I check 443 port with telnet client there is an error that it can't connect to the host. But checking the same host with online port check on https://ping.eu site gives me positive result that the port is open (the screenshot is attached).

I know that it's not your problem but I wanted to switch to using the Firefox instead of Opera but I can't do it now because Firefox does not work at full degree. Could Firefox team do something to bypass the blocking of the host?
