Please help me to download the version of Firefox that will work for my old phone.

It is a Samsung 3, Android version 4.1.2. Three days ago Firefox released a new version in September 2018 and since then my Firefox browser crashed on startup (opening it).

I got the Crash Report page display but it never confirmed delivery of the reports.

Tapping the Restart Firefox box got zero results - just another error display page: "Unfortunately Firefox has stopped working"

Is there a workaround for my phone? I loved the old Firefox!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi

It may be the case that there is insufficient space on the device for Firefox for Android to work is designed.

To help resolve this, open the Settings app (typically a cog wheel icon) and select Storage. Select Cached files and delete them.

This should help resolve this issue, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.

Hey! You can visit this page: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/

and search for some older versions, that will suit your demands.

Best Regards

No need to go to some random third-party download site when all versions of Firefox for Android is at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/

Firefox 56.0 and later requires Android 4.1 or later so 62.0.1 should work.

Thank you, I will try the suggestion. I cannot understand why the new Firefox 62 update keeps failing after successful install and my own (frequent) clearing of cache, for both it and Google apps.

Thank you again, I really appreciate the help.

Okay well, now the Firefox Beta app is failing to load utterly until I clear not only the cache but all the program files as well.

This necessitates re-logging in to all the sites I use Firefox for (Amazon, ebay, etsy, yahoo mail, anyplace - because the app has to be cleared before it will function again.

At least I no longer have to uninstall / re-install the entire app (that took forever to download it).

Another bug: the Etsy mobile app, the one that allows buyers to post photos with their reviews, fails to display pictured listings while briwsing; anyone know a fix for that?

Thanks, gentlemen. Your expertise is appreciated

Hi

The Etsy team will be best placed to help you with that, but from what you describe, my comment above may still help.
