Recently email recipients are getting multiple copies, sometimes 8 or 10. Also I am getting multiple copies of emails put in my sent box. The box in copies and folders 'place a copy' in not ticked yet still getting this problem. My MF is on auto download updates. Can anyone point me how to correct this problem Many thanks Alan Jones (UK)

This sounds like you are actually sending emails perhaps whilst in the process of creating them. However, you are obviously not aware of this. I have seen this before and the answer has been the user is sending the email, but they are using a shortcut method where a combination of two keys are used.

When you are composing an email, there are times when you would want to create a new line. To do this you would be pressing the 'Enter/Return' key.

The 'Send' instruction acts when you press the 'Send' button, but it also is invoked when you use a combination of 'Ctrl' key and 'Enter' key.

I believe you are accidentally and unknowingly depressing the 'Ctrl' key when you are pressing the 'Enter' key. This is something that can occur as a habit and the results are exactly as described; repeat sending numerous times.

There are two 'Ctrl' keys on the standard keyboard, one in bottom left corner, where it is all too easy to rest the left hand whilst the right hand clicks on 'Enter'.

re :multiple copies of emails put in my sent box. The box in copies and folders 'place a copy' in not ticked yet still getting this problem. If you are using imap mail account, servers automatically put the sent email in the 'Sent' folder and you do not need to even select it in 'Copies & Folders'. For example, Gmail. Imap mail accounts show a virtual copy of what is on the server. Emails are stored on the server. The imap 'Sent' folder synchronises with server and will show what is on server.
