I just got a new computer because on my old computer windows crashed. I removed the hard drive and have it hooked up as an external drive to the new computer. I want to import my Mozilla bookmarks from the old hard drive to the new computer. Can I do this. Is there another way to recover my bookmarks. Thanks

Yes. If you still have access to the old hard drive, you should be able to copy the places(dot)sqlite file into your current profile folder. See Recovering important data from an old profile.

You should be able to find your previous profile folder at the following folder on that drive:

X:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

There should only be one folder and within that folder will be the file that you need to copy.

It's important to note that I'm assuming you don't have any new bookmarks on your new drive that you want to save. Copying the old places(dot)sqlite file over top of the new file will erase any bookmarks or history items that you have accumulated on that computer.

Hope this helps.

NOTE: Due to a recent ban on posting links on this forum, I've had to replace any dots in the file names with "(dot)".
