i have many windows open in multiple browsers. i need firefox to adjust window size in width more than in height. up down controls with mouse are easy due to scroll wheels but left right scroll is a pain because i have to grab the stupid bar and drag it every time. any thoughts?

You can hold down the Shift key to make the mouse wheel scroll horizontally as you can see by the value of this pref on the about:config page.

  • mousewheel.with_shift.action = 4
0: Nothing happens
1: Scrolling contents
2: Go back or go forward, in your history
3: Zoom in or out (reflowing zoom)
4: Treat vertical wheel as horizontal scroll
5: Zoom in or out (pinch zoom)

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
