What I am wanting is to know if it is possible to setup Thunderbird in a office network setting that will allow tags and replies to be seen on all computers. Right now we have 5 computers setup in our network and each one has a thunderbird installed to check emails. When I open my computer and check the emails I can see the new messages that come in from the previous day. I will answer messages and mark them with a tag that says completed. An hour later another person comes in to the office and they start their computer and check emails. Sometimes the "this message has been replied to arrow" will show up for the second person and sometimes it just looks like the message has been read but does not show that it was replied to and answered. NEVER does the tag show completed on the second computer. This gets very frustrating when we have to go desk to desk and confirm whether a message was completed or not. The system to mark whether a message is read or not seems to work perfectly and we almost never have one computer showing a message as not read or read that another computer shows different. Whatever it is that shows the replied arrow and the tags does not work well at all. I just know there has to be a way that I can set thunderbird so that whenever one computer does something with the emails that it will show up immediately on all the other computers.

Tags will sync between computers if each computer has the same set of tags defined, and if the IMAP server supports keywords.

The account I have with my ISP and also gmail support keywords, but other accounts do not.
If you can't sync tags, an alternative is to move completed messages to a separate folder that is subscribed on all computers with the same IMAP account.
