Hello!

I have two different problems.

Bookmark toolbar disappears at every firefox restart, nevertheless I set it to 'Always show'.

The second problem is that my add-ons icons disappears at every firefox restart, leaving a blank space that I can click and that shows a small rectangle with no function. I have to go inside the add-ons settings de-activating and activating the add on to show it properly again.

Any thoughts?

Could be a problem with the preferences stored in prefs.js in the profile folder.

  • browser.uiCustomization.state

You can check for problems with preferences. You can delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the Bookmark toolbar still there?

Thank you! Before I try, will this erase my opened tab lists? I have several tabs I am maintaining open also when closing firefox, saving them for the next session.

The list of open tabs is stored in sessionstore.jsonlz4 in the profile folder. This file is only present when Firefox is closed. You can keep a backup copy of this file to be able to recover your tabs if a new profile would have to be created or you lose your tabs otherwise.
