When I use Back that old page is scrolled to the top, not where I left it.
I have seen this mentioned in 1276222 and 1268881. The first says one person has this problem, the other says two. I am here to add myself to those counts (except I can't figure out how to do that, probably because they are archived).
I spend a lot of time on the Motley Fool discussion boards, very old code. I always start at the same page, https://boards.fool.com/FavoriteBoards.asp?sortby=date. I have 119 "Favorite" boards, and that displays the most recently active boards at the top. On my phone I see less than four "lines" because on my phone screen the wide line wraps around. If I am scrolled down to the 20th entry, that is over five screens to get there.
I click on a board, read it, and hit Back. With the Windows version of Firefox the Back takes me to exactly where I left off. The iOS version USED take me Back to where I left off, but for a while (weeks?) has instead put me back at the top. On my small phone screen that can mean again scrolling down those five screens, and it can be more than that. Often I go Back after no more than ten seconds on the page I opened, and I'm scrolling down and down and down again to get were I was.
It is driving me nuts.
I have attached a screen shot showing four entries, items eight to eleven out of sixteen. That turns out to be three full screens down from the top, though getting there requires more scroll motions that that because my finger reach is less than the max available.

This has been driving me crazy, too. It’s been happening on my iPad 6, and I’m pretty sure I’ve observed the same behavior on my laptop as well. It’s just annoying enough that I might have to switch browsers.
This started happening with me too out of the blue and it is driving me INSANE please let there be a fix!!! It only happens on my iOS 14.4 mobile not on my windows laptop.
