Many thanks for your effort. Done migration form one PC to another new one, several times, always successfully. This time it is another kind of problem. The PC (actually a laptop with Windows 10) with Thunderbird 102.1.2) went dead, because of power loss, also the battery went dead. Unfortunately, Thunderbird was still open when leaving the PC. When restarting, the Thunderbird opened, however as it is opened after a new installation. All settings and mail were missing.

Have tried to replace all content of the profile-folder, from a backup. Both the latest backup and an older one. Each time with same result, still both settings and all mail is missing.

Have also tried to un-install, remove all Thunderbird-folders and restart. Then reinstall Thunderbird and copy the content from a backup profile into the newly created profile. Same result, when starting – all settings and mail is gone.

Also tried to make an import, but just the address-book is successfully imported.

Trying to find what I am missing. Most grateful för any piece of advice.

Copying contents of one profile into another one rarely works well. I suggest you pick a profile that you know to have worked and import it with the tools>import feature.

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

However, I have also tried to use the tools>import feature with the following result: - the import starts - almost at once it reach 33% - works at 33% for sometime and then finish. = result - only the addressbook available when starting the program again.

Looking forward to your further reply

OK, I will assume the profile is complete and worked in a prior setting. If the profile is flawed, my suggestions cannot help. Here is another way to use the profile. - exit Thunderbird - copy the 'good' profile to c:\users\<yourID>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles - start thunderbird - click help>moretroubleshootinginformation - scroll down to Profiles. click 'about:profiles' - your profile should appear. Select it to use it. If the profile is complete, it will work.
