Unable to upload or download files

more options

Hello all,

For some reason, I can no longer upload or download files, with the pop-up window failing to appear entirely. I can upload folders through, for example, Dropbox or Google Drive, but individual files don't work.

I've reset my browser, uninstalled and reinstalled it, opened it in troubleshooting mode, disabled enhanced tracking protection, but nothing seemed to work. I've tested another browser, and I was able to upload and download files just fine.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 using Firefox 107.0.1.

Interesting... Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla, unzip, and run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

This is a common cookie issue with Google Drive. I can upload, drag and drop with no issue. When I tried to download, I see the info flashing in the bottom left corner of the browser. I see 1 cookie (doc-14-3g-docs.googlelusercontent.com) with other data, but nothing happens. I normally block all 3rd party cookies, but after changing the cookies settings to strict, I was able to download from GD.

What are your cookie settings?

My cookie settings are on standard right now. It doesn't look like I'm blocking third-party cookies.

The file explorer window pops up as normal with the version downloaded from Mozilla. I suppose I'll just use that one for the time being, until the snap gets fixed.

It's good to run more than 1 version anyway. You can sync your data to the Mozilla version and that way it's in more than one place in case something goes BOOM. You can mark this as resolved and good luck with snap.

Or you can run openSUSE!  ;-))

I'm not a techie. I don't know what the "chosen solution" means: "run firefox-bin from the folder ..."

Is there an easy solution to this issue for Luddites?

I'm running Firefox 109.0.1 on macOS Monterey 12.5.1.

I have had this problem (upload button not functioning) for a few days with my Ubuntu 22.04/Firefox installation. None of the suggested solution worked. I discovered the problem is the snap Firefox version'. The only solution I found is to download Firefox source file directly and use this now installation of Firefox. What I did te recover all my settings:

   • edit the profile file ~/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini,
   • create a /home/silvain/.local/share/applications/firefox.desktop launcher,
   • set the profile as the previous snap profile opening about:profiles from this new firefox
