When I open firefox it uses 44,~~~k Memory with all addons working, when I watch live streams on www.justin.tv it goes up to 70,000k - 80,000k after few hours firefox uses 130,~~~k-140,~~~k memory even if I don't watch anything on any site, just stay at google. But when I restart firefox it goes back to using 44,~~~k memory.I have tried running firefox in safe mode and it used a little less memory, but it still got high after a while.Add-ons I'm using:AdBlock Plus,AnyColor,BetterPrivacy,Firebug and iMacros. Is this normal at all?

Is this normal?

Cor-el's solution of installing Flashblock worked for me. I hoped the problem would go away when I switched for FF 4.0.1 but in fact it seemed to get worse. I repeatedly had to restart when the memory usage topped 1 million KB and performance would tank (ie. freeze up). However, installing Flashblock seems to have cleared up the problem, and for the past several days my FF has been running with a stable 400,000 KB. Thanks cor-el!

I've been having continuing problems with Firefox using memory and now I've sorted them all out. How did I do it I downloaded Internet Explorer 8 and everything is fine again. I've got two accounts open both logged into IE8 and doing all the same things as I did with Firefox.

This happens to me too but in much greater memory usage. The add-ons I use are: Ad-Block Plus, TinEye reverse image look-up, and WOT (Web of Trust). I only use those and I could be just sitting on facebook or watching youtube videos and various other things that don't require a lot of memory. And My Firefox ends up using upwards of 516k to a whopping 716k today.
