Can't install Firefox 3.6. It says, "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items."

I just downloaded the app from Firefox, dragged it into my application folder and got a pop up saying "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items."

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Thankyou that worked. I found another way of making the new version of firefox work was by clicking on the drag icon but after deleting the earlier version, new version unpackaged contents. This was for 3.6.12

I just tried to install Firefox 4.0 and got this error.

I could not delete from Applications folder manually, as it was all ready deleted. It would not let me install by dragging to Applications

BUT i got it work by dragging to DESKTOP instead.
