Are the emails displayed in a fixed width font, such as Courier?

This is an example of a fixed width font

You can increase the default size of that font by using Courier New (which is a little bigger than some of the other choices) and increasing the size.

Tools > Options > Content

Then in the Fonts & Colors section, Advanced

For "Monospace" select Courier New and set the size to at least 14. Or you could try 16.

Web sites still can override this default with their own styles, so if that doesn't help, the next step might be to use an add-on that lets you tweak style settings for individual sites. (Please post back if you are interested in that.)
