My Google Tool Bar disappeared after downloading firefox's version 5. This was inconvenient for me so I deleted version 5 and re-downloaded version firefox 4.0. I am now being bombarded constantly by firefox in popups trying to get me to try version 5. This is frustrating and I am about to go to a windows explorer search engine!

Firefox 5 is a security and stability update for Firefox 4.0.1 and you should not use Firefox 4.0.1 or 4.0 as they are no longer supported. That is the reason you are receiving the update notification.

Many users have found that the Google toolbar will work in Firefox 5 by installing the following add-on. Google needs to test their toolbar with Firefox 5 and change, in their code, the versions of Firefox with which it is compatible. The following add-on will add a "Compatibility" button in the Add-ons > Extensions display.
