after downloading latest firefox my old imac g5 gives me a color wheel after every couple of keystrokes like the computer is choking to death. I have cleared cache, cookies, you name it, nothing will make the computer function anymore, it is almost useless it is so slow. I need to get back to the previous version of firefox until I replace this computer, which will happen soon, but not soon enuff to deal with this

I would not think older versions are supported. Firefox 3.6.20 will be a security fix and should hopefully not be expected to cause problems.

I am not a Mac user and do not know the likely spec of a G5 but obviously it worked previously, have you tried it in safe mode. (but do not make changes, just click on continue.)
