I get an instability message from zonealarm extreme security and sent a error report to them. This happens when I try to install a 6.01 update. Firefox closes, then when it tries to restart it says there is another copy of firefox running and I must close it. That's when the ZA message pops up. I have to reboot to get out of this loop. Update history in FF (6.0) says there have been no updates installed. FF also reports I am on the update channel. I'm running win vista service pack 2. Recently installed the latest ZoneAlarm Extreme Security.

Post your question on the Zone Alarm forum. They can tell you what you need to do as to their "browser virtualization" when updating Firefox or Firefox Add-ons.
