why am i getting an upgrade message on my opening page when I already have and I am running the latest version?
You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web! I am using the latest version. why is this message still on my opening page. maybe one out of ten times it is not there

The old Google homepage, http://www.google.com/firefox , is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox. It appears that it is no longer being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of about:home. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.
See --> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
- Try using the "Restore to Default" button as shown in the above article.
