Try opening Firefox and typing google.com in the address bar at the top and press enter... If it works, I would suggest something's happened to your homepage settings, and to try this: How to set the home page

Can you access other pages either by typing urls in the location bar or using your bookmarks? In other words, is it just a problem with your home page?
It seems like you are trying to connect through an unreachable server. Are you using any proxy software? Go in your Firefox Preferences and go in Advanced -> Network -> Settings and then click on 'Use system proxy settings'. If that doesn't work, you might have to contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
The browser I usually use is MSN and I can access it by clicking on icon. When I click on FF icon I get teh error.
I don't kno how I would get to FF preferences when I can't get on FF

I tried opening FF. I got the error. I typed in Google and the google page opened. The thing is I want MSN as my home page and that opens when I click on the internet explorer icon. Not to be insulting, but I don't see how my homepage has anything to do with clicking on the FF icon and getting the error.
Being able to access Google indicates it's a problem with your homepage setting..
Try setting your homepage to the same as your Internet Explorer homepage.. I think the address that is currently set as your homepage has /firefox or something on the end, and the website doesn't have /firefox on it..

Thank you. But I don't understand how I can set my homepage when I can't even get on FF.
Didn't you open Firefox and go to google.com?
Jack, You are a genius. I went back and clicked on the icon, got the error message and then followed the instructions to set the homepage. I closed it, then clicked on the FF icon and it worked. It's a beautiful thing. Thanks a lot for your time and patience.
No worries, glad I helped.
If you could mark my answer as a solution would be great, thanks.
