Three layout problems: Navigation bar stretch, excessive space, bookmarks

more options

Hello,

I have attached a link to a Screenshot to help show what I am talking about. I have three problems in trying to get the layout the way I like it. Basically I am trying to get all toolbars in one row to maximize screen space and efficiency.

1: (Shown in blue on attachment) The navigation bar is excessively wide. In a previous answer somebody suggested editing the userChrome.css file, but I don't have any such file in my Mozilla Firefox program folder.

2: (Shown in orange on attachment) Even when I put all toolbars on one line there is a large space under my toolbars. FYI there are no objects (e.g. spaces) in this area when I go to "customize".

3: (Shown in red on attachment) I have 5 webpages that I want quick access to, next to the navigation bar. Firefox ends up showing 4 of these pages, then a drop down menu containing the one remaining page. If I delete one of these bookmarks it displays 3 pages and a drop down menu for one more, while the navigation bar grows to eat even more space (!!????). There is clearly enough room for all 5 pages next to the navigation bar if I could get this dropdown menu to disappear.

Overall firefox seems to have done a good job at allowing the user to customize the toolbars but it seems there is work to be done.

Thanks!

Is that blank space the Bookmark toolbar? If you click the Firefox button, go to the arrow next to Options, and uncheck bookmark toolbar, does that go away?

^ that's what it looks like to me, the Bookmarks Toolbar is selected while the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" have been moved to the Navigation Toolbar.

I use a similar Toolbar arrangement.

Hi Tylerdowner,

Thank you, this got rid of the extra space! Also, simply restarting my computer has fixed the third problem, and consequently made the first problem no big deal. My browser is looking hot now!

Cheers
