how can i eliminate all the adds i am receiving telling me to update firefox and offering to clean my computer
i keep getting sites that offer to clean my computer, tell me to update firefox, offer faster speed etc.
my virus protection keeps indicating that these sites are not safe, how do i stop them from contacting me ?

Try using the other recommended anti-malware tools that I posted. Some "tools" find stuff that the others don't catch - they aren't all created equal.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I have had my antivirus provider look over my computer (they use hitman pro) and I am told my computer is clean –
I have also run CCleaner which shows no malware and also have MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware in my programs and assume that it is running
I continue to get these annoying emails and have to continually close out of them ?
Any other suggestions

You stated that your issue was with adds [sic]. So is your problem with email or unwanted advertisements appearing in Firefox?
yes - i just got one from reimage repair offering to fix my computer and one with a toll free number offering the same service which i was emailing you
Sorry – the better answer is unwanted advertisements appearing in Firefox
I have checked and the pop blocker seems to be on
