Email a link opens entire Outlook exe, not just send a message, how do i change this to only send a message, not open outlook.exe?

When clicking Send A Link on Firefox it opens the entire Outlook.exe and not just send a message. I do not want the entire Outlook to open, because if we send more than one link we have multiple Outlooks opening and causing a mess. How do i configure it to only open Send a Message from Outlook. We are running Windows 8.1 and the newest build of Firefox. Thank you
