1 - The previous email addresses are no longer viable but the first one still pops up as the default if I try to send an email from some proces other than directly from thunderbird. I want it gone but there is no way to get rid of it.

2 - my new email address has no spam folder in the menu but i think emails have been put into a hidden spam folder that i want to check. How do I set it up? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thunderbird gets all addressing suggestions from your address books. Find the old address and update or delete it. You have 2 address books by default. Check both of them.

Thunderbird does not create a Spam folder. Your provider might. If you are using IMAP email you can subscribe to the providers Spam folder to view it. If using POP you cannot.

Sorry, the question was ambiguous. It is my own email address that is the problem, not other peoples. Thunderbird lists all my own email addresses and I want to delete all the folders (inbox, etc) pertaining to both my two ( no longer operational) addresses.
