When I have an open message that I delete another message opens automatically. If the message being deleted was the last message then the message immediately above this message opens even if its already been read. I don't want any message to open unless I specifically click on it. How do I set this up?

Thanks for your help. Found another way also. This is: Open Tools - Options - Reading & Display, then Check 'Close message window/tab on move or delete'.

Your method is certainly effective when messages are opened in tabs or windows, but I think the add-on works for the case where messages are opened in the Message Pane (F8).

Thanks again. I'll keep it in mind. Presently I do not use the message pane - I just like to get the headers and then decide which messages to open or just dump.
