Here are two examples:

For Audio (mp3) : http://blog.daum.net/sleepyhollow/15607441 For video: http://blog.daum.net/sleepyhollow/15607426

Chrome can play these files. I tried with two different firefox, (win xp and win 7 64bit), files don't start play.

What is the problem here?

Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  • Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
  • Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

  • (32 bit Windows) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
  • (64 bit Windows) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\

That page uses the embed element to play the mp3 audio file and the mp4 video file and doesn't use the audio and video tag that would allow to use the built-in HTML5 media player, so you need a plugin that can handle the content type that the server sends.

The video file ("The Impossible Dream - Richard & Adam BGT.mp4";Content-Type: video/mp4) plays for me with the VLC plugin without problems. The audio file ("Flying Thing - Gentle Soul.mp3";Content-Type: audio/mpeg) doesn't start for some reason when embedded, but does play if I paste its link in the location bar.

You need a plugin that can handle these content types to be able to play those files. Possible choices include QuickTime and VLC.

You can check on the about:plugins page what content type a plugin supports.

Thanks for your interest, I removed old flash version. For VLC plug-in, should I install whole program (vlc player) for windows?

Why doesn't start embedded mp3 files ? With some effort I can open it in new tab or download the mp3, but I want only listening the sound, when page is loading.

(Chrome can play the file -how? )
