Hi I've set Thunderbird as my default email client. I have three accounts and they all work fine. However if I click on a link to someone's email address in another application, it opens up MS "Mail" in Windows 8.1. I've tried deleting accounts in Windows but it warns me that deleting my main email address account, will affect my loging in to Windows? So far I have been copying and pasting others' email addresses into Thunderbird but that's a bit of a work around.

Can anyone help please? (Not a seasoned user).

Sounds like a Windows problem, not Thunderbird.

Here is a help page from Windows. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-default-e-mail-program

Thanks Airmail, I'm actually using Windows 8.1 but this set me on the right path. I set the default in Windows and it works now. Thanks again Rob
