Hi, I was looking for having the same options in my adress bar then my search box, for example : if I type hi in my search box it will search on Google (if Google is by default). I wanted to my adress bar to do the same.

Can you help me ?

That should work, provided Firefox isn't resolving this term as a valid URL.

To make this work more reliably, you can add a (one letter) keyword to a search engine in "Options/Preferences > Search" and type the keyword and a space and the search term(s) in the location/address bar.

If this isn't working then you may ave an extension that is interfering.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
