Looks like a problem with the theme that you use that doesn't support the about:preferences page properly. You can check if there is an update or disable the theme and revert to the default theme.

You can toggle browser.preferences.inContent to false on the about:preferences page via a double-click to restore the standalone Options/Preferences window that you had in previous Firefox versions.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
