I have a problem with FF on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 15.04 @ Ubuntu mate. The problem is following: There is a stuttering and also image tearing when Firefox is in the background opened with song on You Tube why? But there is no stuttering or tearing when chrome is opened with the same YT video in the background. Why? (the same happens with Nvidia drivers and also on Ubuntu Mate 15.04 (image tearing when Firefox is opened no problem with Chrome)

I understand that videos are tearing on youtube when you watch them in VLC. The recommended video player for youtube is the html5 player or the Flash player. Do the videos tear in these video players as well?
