when inputting text into either the browser or the search field the text is being reversed. If I input the information with reverse text I can get to where I need to go. However, it is really a pain to write everything out so it can be input in reverse. Example of text input: car sync, translation appeared as cnys rac

Yes, I am using the latest version of Mozilla. Also, everything was working status quo and the problem started about an hour later.

This happens if the cursor doesn't advance when you enter a character causing existing characters to get pushed to the right.

Did you try to close and restart Firefox?

In the past such issues have been reported as caused by a Java plugin that is running an applet in a Firefox tab. You can set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page to test this.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
