Mozilla says that Silverlight add-on needs to be updated but when I click 'update' all I get is "Silverlight 4.1.10328.0 and lower has been blocked for your protection." So, how do I update it?

If you have that version or older then Silverlight 4.1.10328.0 is rather old as it was released May 8, 2012

You were to quick to respond as I edited link. Plus the link did work if you copy+paste the whole part into Location bar.

This does solve my problem as to how to get the update itself. But and I guess I didn't ask the question actually, why doesn't Mozilla's update page take me to it? Mozilla supposedly accesses the system and suggests what needs to be updated and when you try to follow Mozilla's direction you can't.

Anyway, thank you for the link.
