Where is the folder for bookmarkes located. I want to open it in Windows Explorer and do some housekeeping on it.

Bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file in the Profile folder. Windows Explorer can't be used to open that file for doing housekeeping. You would need to use an sqlite manager program or rearrange bookmarks from within Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data
