Firefox just started crashing on startup, even in safe mode.

I also tried creating a new profile (which Firefox did let me do), but it crashed as soon as I tried to use the new profile.

The only way I could get it to start is by setting it to work offline, which obviously isn't very useful.

Here's a few crash IDs:

The last ID is for is the first crash I got, which didn't happen on startup.

Chosen solution

Thanks for the advice. I'm still not sure what was wrong, but a reboot of the computer has fixed it.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:

check for updates for your graphics drive drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later) disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin See also:

If the above does not help,

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

Note that this might have been a hardware acceleration issue.
