This is the second time in a week where apparently the user and password logging for send or receive email does not work, with the above error message. ISP is Comcast - I can web sign on to Comcast and send/receive messages. I have deleted saved passwords (which were correct), restarted TB but to no avail.

Hi wcshaff.

According to the message, there was an error (as the error message says) on the mailbox provider side. You might be still able to login via webmail interface, as the servers serving Thunderbird and other mail clients can be run separately.

Please get in touch with your mailbox provider support, if they can check their logs and fix that problem.
