Mac Activity Monitor shows Firefox Plugin Content (Shockwave Flash) being launched whenever Clear History is performed.

Is this normal?

No webpages were open, no add-ons installed.

Flash remains active until I cancel the process in Mac Activity Monitor or quit Firefox.

This can happen if you clear the cookies. Firefox also tries to clear cookies set by plugins like Flash LSO and launches a plugin container process.
