My Firefox only displays in a very basic manner. While some pictures display, basic operators display as blank frames. What do I need to do to get it to work OK

The way Firefox displays makes it virtually unusable - mostly any buttons are just shown as empty boxes with a black outline, and it is only when I hover over them that I can see what they are.

Chosen solution

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
