I installed the latest 45.0.1. I have option: When Firefox starts show my windows and tabs from last time. Used to work perfectly: all tabs visible on the top of screen with the focus being is on the last tab on the right side. Other tabs only loads when I click on them. It changed to be. 1. Now when I close and re-open the browser the last used tab always replaced with home page. The focus is on that home page, even if its in the middle. 2. When firefox opening is triggered from email - the tab is opened as first on the left not the right.

I would like to restore previous behavior, especially in part of storing and reopening correct tabs.

I upgraded this morning to Firefox 45.0.2 and problem is gone! Glad to get the regular browser behaviour back. The bug was annoying. Again, thank you for trying to help me.

Are all tabs normal tabs or are there pinned tabs?

If you close Firefox with only pinned tabs open then Firefox will always open one normal tab on the next start.

All tabs are normal ones - originally opened as links from google or research sites I am using. I did not even know what the pinned tab is until reading your reply - then googled it and realized that I never used that feature. The tabs reopening used to work perfectly before latest update got installed few days ago. I close browser when I don't use it, so the feature to reopen previous tabs as is was extremely important to me.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you, but unfortunately did not help: 1. I started in the safe mode, went to the tools=>add-ons to switch to the DEFAUILT theme, but it was disabled because in safe mode all add ons are disabled. But i think I run in default theme anyway as it was the only only available/visible on the page and I never installed extra themes. 2. checked all shortcuts properties , both on desktop and the taskbar (from which I start it). All correct and nothing extra added to their target line.

By the way, I am running Windows 10. I tried on my several other machines running Windows 10. The same problem. I think it might be something in the new Firefox (it only started to happen after latest version update), rather then in my computer.
