My laptop has a 4k resolution screen and whenever I try to watch videos they stutter horribly making them unwatchable, tho when i downscale to 1080 they play perfectly fine, why is it that eventho 4k resolution is pretty widely available, problems like this happen? Even games that has the same problem that I never expected to fix them within the next year or so have fixed it.

Well even if your screen supports 4K Resolution your graphics card and CPU aren't powerful enough to play 4K videos. If 1080p videos run fine this means nothing's wrong with Firefox. You will have to upgrade your computer to play 4K videos.
