yesterday thunderbird decided it could not access my yahoo account with a password. I enter the password, thunderbird says its wrong. I have deleted the old password and tried again. My Samsung at the same time could no longer my yahoo emails. If I log onto my email account in Chrome the password works just fine. What is going on? does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you enabled less secure apps on the Yahoo site?

BTW mail clients and web mail are about as related as ships and trucks. They are both transport, but there the similarity ends. SO issues with the provider will usually involve mail clients or web mail and very rarely both (A DDOS attack or a melted server) That you have two mail clients acting up it sound like a yahoo issue to me.
