Trying to find good ad-blocker

I'm becoming really annoyed with the ads on some sites. I could put up with a moderate number of ads that don't interfere with using the site, but having four ads at once, or noisy ads I can't shut off (not cool when someone else is trying to sleep in the next room), or an ad that plops itself down on the controls, is starting to get old. I do use some sites that use pop-ups for various tasks. Is there an ad blocker that people can recommend?

HI, can try a combo : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/?src=search as they each find ads in diff ways. It really depends on the person what they use, the 1st one is very aggressive.

You could try this for videos : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-autoplay/

I decided to go one at a time with this and tried Ghostery. It's helped a lot (though not with the noisy videos, maybe I will try the other link.) Only thing is, on Outlook some emails are showing up with the photos in the email looking "broken". Could Ghostery could be affecting this?

Is possible yes, you need to find the right settings that will end up working for all sites which is hard to do, so ya you will need to allow something for Outlook.

You can do this for auto play videos :

You may want to try adblock

or adblock plus

as they follow white lists that allow some stuff to come through including ads on some sites.
