"Loading" gives blank page when I hit "What New" under Help. Then times out.

That is just the first issue. That happens all the time. The second case is when I click on (or load) an email that has been downloaded from the POP server. The attached email may take around a minute to load. The status bar is completely green but nothing displays for a minute or so. This occurs with maybe 1 out of 50 emails. It is repeatable.

I was ready to try your suggestion. The machine was in the same state as yesterday. No reboot. Three major applications open (Thunderbird, Chrome and Excel). But first I decided to recheck the rendering of the same message. Maybe Friday the 13th is my lucky day. Both issues (Whats New and email display) worked perfectly today. So I'll save your suggestion for the next time. Thanks.
