Greetings--

Okay....... I had to recently reset my entire computer, and in doing so I lost Thunderbird. I had to re-download Thunderbird and when I did that, I lost everything.

The good news is that before I reset my computer - in the "backup process" - I did save all my received emails in a file on an external hard drive.

So, I need to know how do I import these saved emails back to my new Thunderbird setup? Is this even possible?

Thank you so much.

How did you back them up is the obvious question. I have seen folk who have converted them to PDF thinking they should be able to import them.

Note full profile backups are the best solution, but apparently everyone has been trained to back up bits of data, like mail or address books or calendar entries. I do not know why they piecemeal backups are so favored as they are by far the hardest to recover from in almost all circumstances. (not just with Thunderbird)
